The West African Examinations Council WAEC has vowed not to release the results of students who sat for the May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 19 states, over outstanding debts. According to Punch, “No fewer than 19 states of the federation owe the council about N4 billion examination registration fees.” WAEC Head of National Office, Lagos, Charles Eguridu , announced the news during a press briefing on Monday. He stated: “A Total Number Of 19 States In The Country Owe The Council In Respect Of Entry Fees For State Government Sponsored Candidates For The May/June 2015 WASSCE. Some States Also Still Owe The Council Registration Fees For The May/June 2014 WASSCE. We Have Written To The Affected State Governments Without Any Response. Eligibility : Candidates who satisfy the following conditions can apply for post-utme screening of Ogitech; Candidates must have chosen , Ogun State Institute Of Technology as their First or Second choice institution in the 2015/2016 UTME and scored a minimum of 150; Candidates must have credits in 5 subjects relevant to their proposed course(s) of study, including English and Mathematics in WASSCE, NECO (SSCE), or NABTEB, at not more than 2 sittings; Candidates who are awaiting results of examinations referred to in 2 above can also apply, if they have taken such examinations METHODS OF APPLICATION : Applications for the admission will be done in the school campus . The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has barred pregnant women and nursing mothers from enlisting in the national service across the country. During a two-day pre-mobilisation workshop in Kaduna, Director-General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, stated that the decision was made to allow all youth corpers to undergo the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC. The four cardinal programmes include mobilisation, orientation, primary assignment and winding-up passing out parade, but most pregnant women and nursing mothers are not able to go through all the four stages. Prospective NYSC member will only be allowed to participate when they can effectively complete all stages.
