EFCC arraigns fake DSTV agent
The Economic and monetary Crimes Commission on November seventeen, 2014 arraigned one use Ajayi prophet and his company, Sky TV world Media restricted, before Justice Fatu Riman of the Federal tribunal Kano on a 3-count charge bordering on conspiracy and Intellectual thieving.
The defendant was in remission on August twenty three, 2013 at Link twenty six, Bawo Road, Hausawa Quarters, Kano, for allegedly retransmitting signals of the pay TV, DSTV, while not authorization.
One of the charge reads, “That you, use prophet Ajayi and Sky TV world Media restricted on or regarding twenty third August, 2013 at intervals the jurisdiction of the Federal tribunal of Nigeria, Kano Judicial Division illicitly had in your possession Tlink, Stron , Dream, Lumin digital receiving system, Dlink Satellite Receivers, AZSKY dongles with routers and mini receiver, Monitors, inverters, Hp laptops, printer, SIM cards, DSTV cards, Canal cards that you employ in accessing Multi selection Nigeria restricted (MCN) signal associate degreed thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable beneath section twenty (1)(c) of the Copyright Act, Cap C28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.”
The defendant pleaded acquitted to any or all the fees after they were browse to him. Justice Fatu Riman granted him bail within the add of N50 million and 2 sureties in like add.
The case was adjourned to twelfth Dec, 2015 for trial.
