I was strolling around the net which seems to be a daily task and stumbled upon this news item about Canada legalising the use of the RU-486 Abortion Pill. Took me a minute to scan the article and moved on. On a second thought, I just decided to share the article with fellow Hub201ans. Regulatory agency, Health Canada has approved the use of RU-486 Abortion Pill in the country; this pill would be used on pregnancies with a gestation period of 49 days and a doctor’s prescription must be obtained before the drug is sold. It will be sold under the name Mifegymiso and is manufactured by British based Linepharma International Limited. Mifegymiso is said to be a mixture of misoprostol and mifepristone; these two chemicals combine to kill the unborn child. The former suppresses the production of the progesterone hormone which is very essential in pregnancy while the latter in charge of evacuating the placenta and the growing foetus from the uterus.
